What it is
A verified archive of Nigerian cultural knowledge on a map you can zoom from the whole federation down to a single family compound.
The problem
Nigerian cultural knowledge lives almost entirely in people. When a custodian dies without being recorded it is simply gone, and the archives that do exist were mostly built by outsiders looking in.
Who it is for
The communities the records belong to, who enter and verify them, and anyone who needs the record to exist in fifty years.
How we are going about it
- Every record is entered by someone from the community it belongs to.
- Elders verify before anything is published.
- Every record credits the person who entered it and the elders who verified it.
- No figures published until the field produces ones we can stand behind.
Where it stands
In pilot in Abia. No outcome figures yet, because no baseline was captured before the pilot began.
